Pricing and billing

Kelvar is free for open source and billed by usage for everything else. There are no seats. You pay for the runs your agents complete, and every charge maps to a run in your ledger.

#What a run costs

Scan run	$0.02	Deterministic checks for secrets, dependencies and infrastructure code. No model is involved.
Agent run	$0.40	A model-reasoned audit, triage or patch at standard effort, in a sandboxed room.
Deep run	$1.50	A high-effort audit that builds child workers and verifies every finding before it is recorded.

Usage tier rates are per completed run. Volume pricing is part of the Enterprise plan.

#Your keys or ours

With your own model keys, you pay your provider directly and Kelvar bills only the run. With Kelvar's keys, the model cost passes through at cost plus 15 percent. See Bring your own model.

#What is billed

Only completed runs. A run that fails, errors out or is refused by policy is never billed.
A trail you can replay. Each line on an invoice corresponds to a run in your ledger, so you can check what you were billed for.

#Spend caps

Set a monthly ceiling in the Usage plan. When the cap is reached, agents stop instead of overspending. The cap fails closed, so Kelvar stops at the ceiling and does not spend past it.

#Community use

Community is free for work on public repositories under an open source license. It includes every agent, the full ledger and the Findings screen. You bring your own model keys, including local models, and pay your provider directly.

Use on private repositories, inside a company or for any other commercial purpose needs a Usage or Enterprise plan.

#License

Kelvar is distributed under the Kelvar Commercial License. It grants free use for open source work on public repositories with your own keys, and requires a paid agreement for commercial use. The license text is the source of truth for what is permitted. If your use is unclear, ask before you deploy.

#Enterprise

The Enterprise plan runs Kelvar as an appliance inside your network. It adds volume run pricing and a signed audit trail you can use as SOC 2 evidence. If you would rather not operate it, the Kelvar team can run the agents for you from $5k per month.

Can I try it on a private repository?	Yes. The Usage plan has no minimum, and the cap keeps spend bounded.
Do I pay for model tokens twice?	No. With your own keys the provider bills tokens and Kelvar bills the run.
What if a run is refused by policy?	It is recorded in the ledger and not billed.
How do I stop spend?	Lower the monthly cap, or stop the system with `vigil down`.
